Paul Kapp

Music/Math Study Skills Instructor

Paul Kapp has taught music for 30 years. He graduated from Davis High School then served an LDS mission to California. Upon returning attended the University of Utah to study music. In 1983 he returned to his high school to teach band. In 1985, he graduated from Weber State University in Music Teaching. In 1990, as a graduate assistant at BYU he received his Master of Music degree in Trumpet performance and Conducting. Mr. Kapp has taught at Layton H.S., North Davis Jr. High, Ogden H.S., Bonneville H.S., Union H.S., Altamont H.S. and Weber State University. Aside from teaching Mr. Kapp has played trumpet professionally for many years. He has 5 children and one granddaughter. He enjoys many outdoors activities as well as cooking. He is an avid BYU Cougar fan and enjoys many other sporting activities. Mr. Kapp is excited to teach at UMA. He loves the cadets and what we stand for! Mr. Kapp serves as the bugler with the Combined Veterans Honor Guard doing military funerals.
