Mrs. Parkinson moved to Utah in 2010 and has been teaching since 2012. She has a Bachelor or Arts in English from the University of Detroit Mercy, and a Master of Arts in English Literature from Eastern Michigan University. Mrs. Parkinson has taught at all levels of the education system, from kindergarten to college, but she prefers teaching high school students.
Mrs. Parkinson loves to cook, read, write, and garden in her spare time. Before moving to Utah, Mrs. Parkinson spent time in the southern United States where she helped rebuild homes of hurricane victims, volunteered as a literacy tutor in Appalachia, and worked with the homeless population in New Orleans, Louisiana. She continues to volunteer at homeless shelters and soup kitchens throughout the Salt Lake Valley.
